Study Time…

I’ve been studying for my sermon this weekend and researching into Nebuchadnezzar – you may remember hearing that name before in Sunday School when you were little. I came across this little quip in the Harper’s Bible Dictionary (pg 691),
“Amel-Marduk (Evil-Merodach), Nebuchadnezzar’s son, ruled from 562 to 560 b.c. According to accounts in 2 Kings 25:27-30 and Jer. 52:31-34 he recognized King Jehoiachin and allocated an allowance for him ‘all the days of his life.’ Babylonian clay tablets mentioning the disbursement of oil to Jehoiachin, five sons of the king of Judea and other Judeans confirm in a dramatic manner this Scriptural statement. “
I love studying history and finding places where the bible and history match up, there are so many – but for some reason we hardly ever talk about it. The bible is a great history book!
But don’t take my word for it, read the book! (duhn duhn duhn… – All credit for the “duhn duhn duhn” should go to reading rainbow.)
