Are you ordinary?

Today while I was studying the scripture I read this verse – one of my favorites:
“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”
-Acts 4:13v (NIV)
I love that what seperated these men from the crowd was not their level of education, not their skill or craft, there was nothing special about them except that they had been with Jesus!
That’s because Jesus takes things that are not and makes them as though they were. He takes the dead and breathes life, he brings direction to the lost, boldness to the meek, power to the weak, and wholeness to the broken.
Are you lame? Are you ordinary? Are you broken? Under appreciated? Without hope? Unschooled? The good news is that Jesus can strike a mighty blow with a crooked stick!
I hope that someday someone will say of me, “well, he wasn’t that smart, but he was full of Jesus power – it’s obvious he knew the King…” That would be enough.
