Church Planting

babystuff One thing that I want Epic Church to be known for more than anything is our love!  I have a feeling that God wants the Church to be involved in the life of our community infecting it with the love of God.  A new exercise that I have been performing in my own life is to look at ways my day to day activity intersects with my community and try to think of simple, God honoring ways I could inject love.

The most recent example has come from this whole baby experience.  Here are my ideas so far:

  1. As a church, see if Parents as Teachers would allow us to provide them supplies that they could give at their discretion to parents who are in need.
  2. Get in touch with any woman’s clinic’s in town and see if the church could provide baby blankets for expectant moms.
  3. See if the church could provide refreshments for the lamaze classes.

These are just a few ideas, maybe good, maybe not so good.  I just feel like there are easy ways that Christians can quit programming and start investing and making a difference in their community and hopefully open avenues to talk about the love of Jesus!

What are some of your creative ideas?
