Counting the cost…

The average successful Church Plant will cost a minimum of $300,000 over a three year period. My figures are closer to $500,000. The question may cross your mind as it does mine: “Why so much?” The answer lies in the complexity of starting a Church, from scratch, that is able to maintain a viable presence within the community. These costs include everything from having a top notch children’s program to renting a facility to meet in. A huge cost in Church Planting is advertising, imagine having no word of mouth, only mail & media. This is one of those necessary evils of Church planting. You have to get the message out, but it is expensive to do so (we plan on pursuing relatively cheap means of advertising as well, but it will all add up). There are other start up fees like purchasing equipment and trailers to move it with. It is a huge undertaking!
For me, all of this comes down to one thing. There are people out there who still do not know Jesus! That is the real “cost” thats burning inside me, that is what keeps me up at night.
